New Exhibitions at the Haggin Museum
Visit the Haggin Museum today through August 15 for two new exhibitions.
“Bustles & Balustrades: The Link Between Victorian Dress” displays how items from the historic clothing collection show the relationship between the ornate architecture of Victorian homes and the clothing of the 19th century women who inhabited them. “Architecture and California Impressionism: Selections from The Irvine Museum” features works where artists have captured the vivid colors and intense sunshine of California’s majestic landscape in a distinctive style that has come to be called California Impressionism.

The San Joaquin County Fair is celebrating 150 years of good times! Down to the Sea
The Knowlton Gallery may be landlocked, but when summer comes, like many in California, its artists head to the sea. Of course, they will be heading to the sea through the art in the gallery’s summer show, “Down to the Sea.” The exhibition can be seen from June 29 to August 21 at the Knowlton Gallery in Lodi.

Taste of San Joaquin
Ready for an all-American celebration in downtown Stockton? On Saturday, July 3 from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm at Weber Point Event Center, with free entrance and a wide variety of food at affordable prices, this event has something for everyone. It also provides top-flight local entertainment for diners and features a “Food Network-style” barbeque cook-off and classic car show. “Sparks in the Park” Benefit Concert and Dinner
On Saturday, July 17 at 6:00 pm at the San Joaquin County Historical Museum, Randy Sparks – founder of the New Christy Minstrels – will be joined by Becky Jo Benson, Rob Wise, Jennifer Lind, and Chuck Cole in a benefit concert. All proceeds from the dinner and concert will go to the San Joaquin Historical Society and the Micke Grove Zoological Society.

8th Annual Great Chefs of San Joaquin
The 8th Annual Great Chefs of San Joaquin event is being held on Saturday, July 24 at The Lucas Winery. Celebrating the talents of six great chefs from San Joaquin this year’s event welcomes David Cook of Wine Wizards, Dider Gerdi of Wine & Roses Inn, Atsuko Takeda of Cocoro, Erin & Gordon Smith of Scooters, Kitty Ruhstaller of Alder Market, Ruben Lazzarolo of Alebrijes Mexican Bistro, and Jo Doolittle Coco Dream Truffles. Great Chefs of San Joaquin is an elegant walkabout dinner designed to bring out local flavors and culinary arts with a magical wine and food pairing. Tickets are $75 per person.
