First Annual Best of San Joaquin Gala

Don’t miss the First Annual Best of San Joaquin Gala celebration hosted by The Record. All the net proceeds from this event will go to the Emergency Food Bank, the Gospel Rescue Mission and the Salvation Army to assist them in their ongoing fight against hunger.  The Gala will take place on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at the Stockton Memorial Civic Auditorium from 5:30pm to 9:30pm. This top-shelf event will honor the businesses voted “The Best” by Record readers. Fabulous food, refreshment and entertainment will be plentiful. It is going to be a celebration of all that is good and wonderful in San Joaquin County!  Savor the samplings of some of the best restaurants, wineries and brew pubs, shops and much more on this very special evening.

31st Annual Arts Award Celebration

Spend an evening at The Bob Hope Theatre on October 17th beginning at 6:30pm as the Stockton Arts Commission presents their 31st Annual Arts Awards Celebration. This year’s event will feature performances by many of the community’s finest artists along with a juried art exhibition coordinated by the Tidewater Gallery. Delicato Vineyards will offer wine tasting while downtown restaurants will provide savory samples of their specialties.

Great Chefs of San Joaquin

“Great chefs and great wines belong together” so come out and savor the delights of The Great Chefs of San Joaquin presented by Lucas Winery on October 18th From 7 - 9:30. This upscale event features food by six of San Joaquin County’s best local chefs paired perfectly with the best of our area’s wines.

The First Sip

Attention all wine enthusiasts! Be among the first to taste wines from the new vintage as Lodi Wine Country vintners unveil the new 2008 wines.
Mingle with winemakers as you enjoy The First Sip with barrel sampling, blending seminars, cellar tours, live entertainment and more. Over 30 Lodi wineries will open their doors for this fall wine event on Saturday and Sunday, November 8 & 9, 2008, from 11:00am to 4:00pm each day.

Tickets are $35 in advance or $45 at the door and are good for both days. Guests will receive a commemorative tasting glass, event map and admission to all participating wineries.

The Wishmaker’s Ball

Enjoy an evening of dinner, wine and dancing on November 11th at The Wishmaker’s Ball presented by The Make A Wish Foundation. This event is held each year to benefit the wish children of Stanislaus County and includes live and silent auctions along with the inspirational stories of wish children.

Festival of Trees

Kick-off the Tracy holiday season with the Festival of Trees. This weekend long event November 22nd through the 24th includes fun-filled activities for the entire family. View and bid on professionally decorated Christmas trees and wreaths. Enjoy evening dinner parties, crafts and a gift shop just for children and have photos taken with Santa. Proceeds from this event benefit the CPR for Kids program, which provides CPR training to third, sixth and 10th grade students in Tracy schools.

Parade of Lights

Gather with friends and family on December 4th as the Downtown Lodi Business Partnership presents The 13th Annual Parade of Lights. This magical holiday parade illuminates the streets of downtown Lodi. The countless lights, floats, marching bands, dance groups and themed vehicles will entertain thousands of viewers. The one mile route begins on Pine Street and continues down Church Street, Lodi Avenue, School Street and Locust.
