Tres Hot Jazz Band, featuring Wendi Maxwell, will perform at a really “Fun Fundraiser” for the Stockton Chorale, Saturday, August 21 at 6:00 pm in the rose garden at the home of Dwane and Sara Milnes. Fun, wine, and hors d’oeuvres will be served. $25 per person.

San Joaquin County Culinary Showcase
A popular annual event, organizers expect a sold-out crowd on Thursday, September 9 at Hutchins Street Square in Lodi. Four chefs from the area will prepare and present their finest rendition of the chosen ingredient to 250 of our area’s most discerning gourmets for tasting and judging.
Chefs will be judged by a panel of culinary experts, as well as the audience.

Teddy Bear Picnic
The Haggin Social Club invites young and old alike to celebrate Grandparents Day at the Teddy Bears’ Picnic on Sunday, September 12 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Held outside the museum in Victory Park, this family event features fun activities and crafts. A tasty BBQ lunch is included.

Literacy and Book Fair
Save Saturday, September 18 for the 13th annual Record’s Literacy & Book Fair – Family Day at the Park. The day begins with the San Joaquin A+ Fun Run at 7:30, followed by The Record’s mascot parade at 9:30, led by the Cesar Chavez High School Drum Corps. At 10:00 the Stockton Symphony will be performing a FREE family concert.
Throughout the day, more than 80 organizations will provide interactive and educational projects for the children. The Friends of the Library will have their famous used book sale. Face painting, street entertainers, published authors and storytellers are all part of this great community event! Entrance and parking is free. Food for purchase is available.

Free Family Concert performed by the Stockton Symphony
On Saturday, September 18, the Stockton Symphony will be performing a free family concert as part of The Record’s Literacy and Book Fair – Family Day at the Park. Held at University Park, the concert will begin on the main stage at 10:00 am. The concert is in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, with works by Latin American and Mexican composers. Andres Franco is the guest conductor. While at Family Day, be sure to stop by the Stockton Symphony Booth in Creative Corner.
