New on the Mile
BY IVAN MOORE
There is a new destination on Stockton’s Miracle Mile.
With its sleek, sophisticated atmosphere, and friendly, detail-oriented service, AVE on the Mile has already established itself as a new favorite for a night out on the town in its first months of existence. Since it first opened its doors in late March, the tapas-and-cocktail-style lounge has been generating buzz and big crowds.
“We have had overwhelming support from the Stockton community and the Miracle Mile,” says AVE co-owner Kevin Hernandez. “It’s been non-stop full reservations since opening night.”
Hernandez said the vision for AVE was an upscale, relaxing bar and bistro with a touch of urban elegance and a selection of premium spirits and light fare.
To this end, he and fellow co-owner Kurstie Sur commissioned chef Nathaniel Krutch to fashion a creative collection of Italian-tinged small-plate offerings perfect for pairing with featured wines or AVE original cocktails. The artesian cheese plate – a tasty collection of unique cheeses accompanied by baguette slices, house-made preserves, and fresh berries – is among the patron favorites. The menu includes plates featuring marinated olives, cold cuts, tramezzini, and sashimi, and is rounded out by a selection of fresh salads, soup du jour, chef’s specials, and a collection of enticing desserts.
AVE features a stylish bar, plush seating, private tables, and a patio area. VIP bottle service is available. Manager Jason Laurenti’s accommodating, down-to-earth staff pleasantly counterbalances AVE’s elegant and modern ambiance. The result is a chic but comfortable setting, at once fashionable and welcoming.
Swinging Sundays will begin soon – with dance lessons being held Sunday afternoons. Call for class information and reserve your spot.
