“The tomatoes are the most labor-intensive crop I farm,” said Gibson, who credits his family, friends and farming team with much of his success. Recently, Gibson added to his crop mix 55 varieties of fruit trees that include peaches, plums, apricots, figs, and hybrids such as pluots.

And Gibson, whose enthusiasm for farming is infectious, has more plans in the works. It’s so satisfying,” he said. “I definitely don’t want to be doing anything else.”
